Artist Statement:
 I love visiting old cathedrals when I travel. I enjoy seeing the many depictions of Christ’s life that have been created in the stained glass windows of so many of the churches I walk through. I especially love seeing the beautiful portrayals of His birth. However, there is one aspect of the Nativity story that I feel is missing in nativity art. Our Heavenly Parents sent Their Son to earth, and I believe that They were both present at His birth. We talk of angels rejoicing at Christ’s birth, but I also imagine our Heavenly Parents there, watching over that sacred scene and celebrating the momentous occasion. I chose to paint this scene as if it were a stained glass window. The tiles that make up the frame represent the stone used to build many of the cathedrals I have visited.
