Artist Statement:
This piece explores my personal heritage as a Christian and artist in the deserts of the West. At times of uncertainty or change, I ground myself in the story of that brave mother Mary and the sweet baby Jesus  surrounded by challenges and unknowns but held tightly together. In this piece, the Virgin Mary, in her signature blue robes, holds the christ child close, surrounded by the stark red rocks of the Utah desert.
