Artist Statement: 
My friend found this bird in her yard. She mourned its small body and laid flowers next to it.
There was nothing she could do to bring the bird back. She was experiencing a lot at the time and poured her grief into that small body and cried. When we see those we care about struggle and grieve it can be hard, especially if we are powerless to offer a solution. I couldn’t fix her grief. All I could do was sit next to her and lay flowers next to her grief, and that was enough.
