Artist Statment:
Patron Saint of France, Joan of Arc murdered at 19 years old, beheld a vision from Archangel Michael to save France from England. Her capture by Burgundian troops and turning her over to the English led to a trial for heresy. Acting upon dark visions deemed demonic. Now revered as a martyr after a court reinvestigated her trial in 1456. Her story now that of an early symbol of freedom, independence and feminism.
