Artist Statment:
Hypatia, an avid philosopher, astronomer and mathematician, was also an avid teacher. In March 415 AD, a mob of Christians murdered her, turning her into a martyr for philosophy.
Here I have remembered her with small tokens of her life, an astrolabe, and a sextant with egyptian elements.
