Artist Statement:
After becoming increasingly intrigued in the various artistic iconography of religious persons in history that I was not aware of before, I enter with the conscious decision to utilize the most traditional symbols of Mary. With such, the Mother of Jesus emerges as a symbol herself, a familiar image of divinity, power, and tenderness.
