Measurements are manmade constructs that attempt to quantify reality. These devices imply precision, objectivity, and authority. By enlarging these objects and removing them from their context, I highlight how measurements influence us beyond their original meaning. This work explores the moralization of measurement in our lives —from a scale to religious milestones—pondering the authority of external markers and the human impulse to quantify our experiences.
