Artist: Annie Henrie Nader

Title: The Prodigal Daughter

Medium: Original Mixed Media on Panel

Size: 18x24 inches unframed, *to be framed in 1/4" thin profile frame

Artist Statement:

This piece was painted in response to reflecting on what it means to traverse two worlds, to be both divine and human. In particular, the divine feminine references a greater heritage of womanhood on a heavenly scale. The painting is symbolic in many ways, and is open to interpretation. Some of the symbols are reflected in the olive branches the figure holds, representative of her held faith in Jesus Christ. The black and white represent the two different worlds she treads. This painting honors her complexity and faith, her femininity and divine heritage.
