Artist Statement:
 
This piece is my interpretation of Heavenly Mother. Before I was invited to paint this image for a book, I realized I hadn't spent much time deeply contemplating Heavenly Mother’s role, despite my lifelong belief in Heavenly Parents. I enjoy painting religious art, but this project was different. From start to finish, the process felt intentional and guided by a higher hand.
Trying to complete a work of this scale while raising two small children was a challenge. Before I even started painting, the pressure of the tight publication deadline led me to believe I couldn't do it, and I decided to bow out for the sake of my family. However, I felt a spiritual push to return to the project. Even though the sheer size made the process much more demanding, I couldn't bring myself to paint it any smaller. I wanted the piece to feel monumental—a reflection of the vastness and significance of Heavenly Mother herself.
Throughout the planning and the hours of painting, I felt the Holy Ghost helping me through every mistake and breakthrough. My husband and I both felt a special influence in our home during this time—a series of quiet, powerful moments that convinced us that Heavenly Mother is not only real, but that She is truly mindful of our lives.
