Artist Statement:
In an act of supplication, this artwork depicts a hand extending forward. With leaves and foliage, it is surrounded by the physicality of the earth. Yet, hinting that this is a holy moment, sacred patterns also encompass the hand. Although the hand appears empty, whether because nothing is there or because the offering is not easily discerned, the invitation remains to take hold.
