Artist Statement:
In fairy tales, a woman weeping is often a turning point in her story. She acknowledges that she cannot complete her task. She grieves for what has gone wrong. Then the story changes and continues. I have gained an appreciation for our ability to feel our grief. I do not think we can skip this step. This image also includes a well, which is a fascinating symbol in many fairy tales.
