Artist Statement:
A nun from Lima, Peru, Saint Rose is the patron saint of flowers in bloom, embroidery, and gardening. She was allegedly very beautiful, and someone once had a dream where her face turned into a rose. Though she was born as Isabel, at her confirmation she took on the name Rose officially. Born in 1586, she was the first person ever to be sainted in the Americas.
