Artist Statement:
Finish Your Plate comes from the weight of daily expectations placed on women. The plate is filled with words representing the tasks, responsibilities, and pressures I feel I must “consume” every day—both those spoken to me and those silently imposed. Through layering and fragmentation, I show what it feels like to carry it all, to try to complete, perform, and meet every demand, and the quiet strain of trying to “finish your plate” while maintaining a sense of self.
