The date palm is known for its resilience as it bends in the storm but does not break. In Hebrew, Tamar means “date palm.”
Tamar’s story in Genesis 38 is one of resilience in the face of injustice. Deceived and cast aside, she refused to be erased. With quiet strength and bold courage, she endured, and through her persistence secured her place in the lineage of Christ. This piece reflects that paradox: struggle and survival, trouble and triumph, all woven into legacy.
