One of a Kind Utah Wedding and Event Rental Host your reception, luncheon, or corporate retreat in a beautiful space filled with original art. Located in the charming historic distric of downtown Provo, it is easy walking distance from the Provo City Center Temple, lots of public parking, and more, this location is central and accessible for a wide variety of events. The Compass Gallery was the perfect venue for our intimate wedding reception. The communication with their team was quick, friendly, and efficient throughout the planning process. They provided excellent recommendations for well-priced catering and live music that really elevated the event. The quality of their work was exceptional - the beautiful, unique space with its inspiring art displays and intimate atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. With about 80 guests, there was plenty of room for everyone to sit, chat, and dance the night away. We loved the live music played on the gallery's piano and the gorgeous views of downtown Provo out the windows. The Compass Gallery helped make our special day truly memorable. Jeddah B. Lisa DeLong Lisa DeLong studied painting and received her MA in Art History at Brigham Young University. She moved to London in 2001. DeLong completed her doctoral studies at The Prince's School of Traditional Arts in 2007, studying under Professor Keith Critchlow and Paul Marchant, two of the world’s foremost geometers. DeLong is now Outreach Program Manager for the Prince's School, designing and conducting educational workshops internationally in places like Azerbaijan, Abu Dhabi, Pakistan, Malaysia, China, and Pakistan. In her paintings, DeLong investigates the beauty found in the conversation between order and the unexpected, chaos and cosmos. Both the patterns and the raw materials of her works are informed by travels and research with the Prince’s School. Rooted in faith, motherhood, and intuitive mark-making, the piece celebrates becoming more child-like in the ways that bring joy, connection, and growth. Child-ish Katie Cash Davis May 1st - 30th Child-ish is a new work by Katie Cash Davis exploring the openhearted, trusting qualities children bring to the world — and an invitation to reclaim that spirit in ourselves. Rooted in faith, motherhood, and intuitive mark-making, this collection celebrates becoming more child-like in the ways that bring joy, connection, and growth. Child-ish Child-ish is a reflection about the soul-centering goodness that children bring to the world, and a nudge to all grownups to move closer to that goodness in us. As a mom and teacher I get to see the way that children engage with the world every day. It’s not perfect, it’s not always logical or sensible, but it is usually honest and openhearted and active. I love the tendency of children to trust, love, try again (and again), experiment, hope, demand, question, forgive and not necessarily notice what is expected or “correct”. As an artist, I try to reflect this kind of childlikeness in my process. I work with intuitive mark-making, playful composition, and layered textures that echo the experience of childhood—cutting, pasting, coloring, experimenting. I try to let go of overthinking and allow space for things to feel less perfect and more alive and connecting. Since I was a child, I have loved the stories of Jesus focusing on little children. He taught that we are meant to become like little children and the scriptures say that children are “alive in Christ”. (Matthew 18:3, Moroni 8:12). I want to be more child-ish in the ways that bring joy and connection with others and with God. I want to see others as God’s children and see myself that way too. I want to trust enough to let myself learn and grow without fear of failure. Jess Hough Moab based plein air print maker Jess Hough is a local Moab artist, printmaker, carpenter, and handyman. She spends most of her time plein air drawing out in the red rock desert, making traditional intaglio prints on her homemade printing press, making paper, and building hand made frames for her art. In 2023 Jess was selected to be resident Community Artist in the Parks, a local program which partners artists with the national parks and monuments of Southeast Utah. Much of this collection was created during her time out in the parks doing demos of print making and plein air drawing. Reimagining religious scenes through contemporary gouache and alla prima painting techniques Brandon Gonzales Reimagining religious scenes through contemporary gouache and alla prima painting techniques After graduating from Art Center College of Design, Brandon Gonzales has spent 10 years working as a matte painter and concept artist in the entertainment industry. His love of painting and drawing led him to obtain a Masters in Fine Art Degree in Painting from LCAD. His unique artistic background has helped him develop a sharp eye for detail, evident in his expressive brush strokes and captivating colors of his paintings. Since his return to traditional painting, he has received various awards including the Best of Show in the LPAPA Next Generation Invitational, Master Class Winner in the Art Muse Contest and 2nd place in the CAC Small on the Wall for Fall and in the LPAPA Town & Country Competitions. His years working as a matte painter have nurtured an exceptional ability to see complexities and nuances around him. This ability coupled with his painterly style results in a fresh and energetic style of painting. A current resident of Utah, Brandon Gonzales shares his love of nature and art with his wife and their seven children. If your work has been accepted, you will receive a confirmation email with your contract, deadlines, and links to upload your artwork details. Please review this email carefully, as it will include important information such as drop-off dates and submission forms. We’ll also send reminder emails as deadlines approach. When do I drop off my work for a show? Your confirmation email will include the official drop-off deadline, which is typically one to two weeks before the show opens. Drop-offs take place during regular gallery hours: Thursday–Saturday, 12–8 PM. What if I am shipping my work for a show? Artists are responsible for all shipping costs for artwork included in shows. Please do not ship artwork directly to the gallery. The correct shipping address and instructions will be included in your confirmation email. My piece sold — when will I receive payment? Payments are issued within one month of the show closing. You will be paid by check or PayPal based on your contract and preferred payment method. If you have not received payment within one month, please contact our Gallery Director, Esther Candari.
