Artist Statement:
This painting explores the idea of the Divine Feminine. Calling on a personal experience I had around the age of 12 after seeing a rainbow, I felt for the first time a feminine energy that was different from the traditional Father God I had been taught about. But this energy is not new to the world, as is shown in the mythology of Iris, Goddess of the rainbow, who is said to be a messenger between the Gods and mortals: a fitting imagery for the role of women who are so often called to be bridges between men and their higher self.
