Artist Statement: 
This piece is inspired by one of my favorite scenes from Brandon Sanderson’s book Isles of the Ember Dark. It depicts the character Sixth of the Dusk after his confrontation with the menacing entity called the Dakwara. I like the contrast of Dusk’s skill and resolve with the immense power and size of the Dakwara. After surviving its test, Dusk now commands the creature and the serpentine skullsnakes surrounding it.
