Artist Statement:
In the Music I heard God. God sounded like Joy. God felt like a Song.
God can be felt and communed with in many ways. One of the ways I often feel God is through music. This is reflected in this painting of Miriam, the sister of Moses. Miriam often led the women of Israel in song and dance as they journeyed through the wilderness. She is one of the few women in the scriptures to be called a "prophetess."
