Broken Family began with a moment of rupture and reckoning. When a cherished platter was broken, my intense response exposed a deeper fear that my family’s visible fractures marked failure. Through the practice of kintsugi, repairing what is broken with gold, I reclaimed my role not as a guardian of perfection, but as an author of meaning.
