In this comprehensive workshop, participants will master essential techniques for photographing artwork to produce accurate, high-quality digital copies. Through clear, step-by-step guidance, attendees will learn optimal lighting setups to eliminate glare and shadows, effective camera techniques for precise capture, color management for true-to-life hues and post-processing methods for refined results. This hands-on class equips artists with the skills to create professional-grade images suitable for portfolios, websites and reproductions, while avoiding common issues like distortion or color inaccuracies. Participants will gain practical expertise to seamlessly integrate modern digital tools when photographing traditional art practices.


Trent Bates is a visual artist based in Utah County, with a practice spanning photography, 3D animation, installation and performance art.
