Artist Statement:
This painting was done en plein air (in the open air, or outside from life). It represents one of the many reasons I enjoy visiting Utah Lake, with it's marshy vegetation, the beautiful colors, and the expansive panoramic views of the mountains surrounding the lake. This location has offered me many moments of serenity in an otherwise challenging and chaotic world. Utah lake is more than a lake. It's an important portion of Utah's Basin and Range biome. For local creatures and humans alike, it represents home and life.
