Artist Statement:
Temple art is so ubiquitous that we have lost our ability to see and understand it new. I want to explore new ways of seeing and understanding what the temple symbolizes to us. I invite people to question their assumptions and think about what they want in art and in the temple ceremony. When the temple is presented in an unfamiliar way or surrounding, the viewer must consider why they have the relationship they do with traditional images, and create a whole new inner dialogue.
