
Julie Yuen Yim
Christian art through the lens of Chinese culture
Julie Yuen Yim is a mixed media artist from, and currently living and working in, Hong Kong. She has a BA in Fine Art and an MEd in TESOL. While she was going to school, she was trained in creating art using western techniques and media, such as watercolor, pastel, oil painting, acrylics, and mixed media. After her college graduation, she continued to study Chinese art such as Chinese brush painting and Chinese paper cutting. She has shown in art exhibitions in Hong Kong, the Certain Women Art Show 2021, the Mosaic of Christ Art Show, Our Heavenly Parents Art Show, and in the 11th and 12th International Art Competition at the Church History Museum. She has won two Purchase Awards from the Church History Museum.
Julie is proud of her Chinese cultural background and finds great meaning from integrating her cultural background into her art.
