Artist Statement: 
Gil-galad gave some of the nuts to Galadriel, and when she came to Lorien, she planted them there. The mallorn trees grew well in Lorien, and almost grew to be as tall as the mallorn trees of Numenor. The mallorn became such an iconic part of Lorien that the land came to be called “the Golden Wood” because of golden leaves of the mallorn in fall.
