Artist Statement:
This painting explores the tension and beauty inherent in science fiction’s portrayal of the human condition. Through the chaos of a space battle—ships aflame, and light refracted across the vacuum of space—the work captures more than conflict. It presents a meditation on the enduring questions that define humanity: survival, ambition, fear, and the longing for meaning beyond ourselves. The cosmic battlefield is both literal and metaphorical—a canvas for our technological dreams and existential anxieties. The vast and indifferent void of space mirrors our inner isolation, even as we strive for connection, power, and transcendence. The viewer is invited to consider the juxtaposition of advancement and fragility and how ancient instincts shape our future myths.
