Artist Statement:
My painting, "Fount," is an interpretation of the invitation to all of God's children to partake. Jesus Christ, his love, and mercy are depicted as water—deep, slow moving, and a living river that is eternal. Through His sacrifice, Christ is the source of this water and He offers it to all. All people are children of God, loved, wanted, and invited to come and partake. Characteristics included are gender, color, age, and role in society. Some partake deeply, some do not, some share, and some are alone. The ripples in the water are expanding and inter-connecting to represent the effect each individual has on their brothers and sisters. Each person must partake and cannot rely on others. Partaking of the love of God brings eternal happiness. There is space for all. "Therefore with joy shall [all] draw water out of the wells of salvation." (Isaiah 12:3)and what does YOUR "Sacred Grove" look or feel like? is it a PLACE? WHO is there? HOW are they lifting and supporting you in your quest for further light and knowledge? WHAT helps you feel the Holy Spirit most as you study and seek? is it TIME that you set aside each day to learn, listen and grow? are you taking the FEELINGS you receive THERE, with you each day, as you pursue this great journey?
there, in YOUR sacred grove, may you find the "pure love of Christ"--- that eternal confidence our heavenly parents have in each of their child's earthly journey. may we invite and support each of our brothers and sisters, every member of our human family, to seek out and partake in their own sacred grove...unique to them and their needs. may we celebrate each of our divine journeys to become our best selves through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
not only is it important to have our own place (or time) to worship and commune with our heavenly parents & savior, we thrive when we take the time to ask questions and seek for truth.
as for this very sacred event, i imagine that all who wanted to witness this event were there - and yes,
SHE has always been there for You - SHE has witnessed all your most cherished moments and supported you through the most trying. THEY all love you very very much!
