I’ve always loved these verses of 1 Corinthians 13. A few years ago, when I began diving into other Bible translations, I recognized that though King James got a lot of things right, his Shakespearian English was a hinderance to me (and others) in understanding the richness of scripture.
Referencing www.biblehub.com, I began studying these verses in multiple Bible translations, side by side, looking for the nuggets of what Paul wanted to share with the fledgling church. Studying these verses in this way and then selecting my favorites created a bit of a Franken-scripture, but the experience opened my mind and heart to see and experience love in a more inclusive way.
I still am fascinated that really only the King James Version translates the Greek—Agape—into charity. Our restoration scriptures give us a much bigger and better understanding of what charity is, (See Moroni 7) while the rest of the world translates this God-like love simply as love.
This platter is the most detailed and wordy platter I’ve ever made. I hope it will open your heart and mind to the simple yet profound development of life’s most important virtue.
