Join us Friday, July 1st, at 6 pm for the opening reception of a gorgeous new art exhibition featuring works by Emily Fox King. A Washington state native, Emily studied painting at Western Washington University and printmaking at BYU. Her work has explored themes of femininity and feminism, employing a wide range of media inlcuding painting, ceramics, drawing, printmaking, video, and collage. She currently resides with her family in Vernal, Utah.
In 'Flower Girls' Emily continues her engagement with notions of femininity, in works that reference not just ideas about flowers as feminine objects but the occasions with which we tend to associate them: springtime, weddings, birth celebrations, anniversaries, as well as grief, loss, and condolence. The show includes works in a variety of media and size, but centers around a series of large paintings on canvas of still floral arrangements.
